Amazon Mobile Apps Now Accepting Web Apps

I received an email from Amazon.com this week that they are now accepting Web Apps into their mobile app marketplace.  I was extremely excited to hear this as the apps I’ve included in the Google Marketplace have really had a good response.  By adding a Marketplace as large as Amazon I believe I will see a marked increase in the usage of my apps.

So, I’m actively pursuing getting an app published in the Amazon Marketplace.  However, I’ve hit a bit of a snag.  I have to provide a manifest file to Amazon so they can verify my ownership of the application.

I’ve tried to complete the verification but without any luck.  I keep getting an error that my manifest file is in an invalid format.

So far to resolve this I’ve changed the file encoding of the file I’ve uploaded, I’ve changed permissions at my hosting company (Goddady.com) and I’ve added mimeType configurations to my Web.config file.

None of that has allowed verification to complete successfully.

Right now I have a post out to a forum on Amazon’s developer site and I’m waiting to hear back.  I’ll keep you posted here on the results.

Question: Is anyone else planning to launch web apps via Amazon’s marketplace?
