So day two is in the books and I am happy to report I made it through without caving in.  Only water and coffee to drink today.  There was one point this afternoon where I heard the Dr. Pepper calling my name but I stood strong.

I think the challenge I’ve had in the past was simply not paying enough attention to what I was drinking.  Now that I’m focused on making healthier choices I’m actually making a choice about what I’m drinking instead of just flying on auto-pilot.

A 20oz soda, my typical serving, has ~16 teaspoons of sugar.  When I imagine eating that much sugar in a single sitting it makes me nauseous thinking about it.  But that’s what I’m consuming every time I drink a bottle of soda.  Each bottle comes in at 240 calories so this habit is really killing me in the weight department too.  I’m hoping the deficit I’m creating by not drinking sugar filled drinks will help jump start some weight loss.
